The Carlo Sand Blow is a natural sand dune phenomenon that is an easy walk from Fraser’s On Rainbow Beach hostel.
Named after one of Captain Cook's deck crew, Carlo, the sand blow stretches an impressive 15 hectares and overlooks the magnificent Coloured Sands, making sunset an incredible time of day at this naturally dreamy place. Migrating whales can be spotted between August and September while the sightings of dolphins over at Tin Can Bay is not uncommon.
The staff of Fraser's on Rainbow Beach hostel host daily free walk tours to watch the sunset over 360-degree views. Ask the friendly reception staff for today's departure time upon check-in and join us to take in views of Fraser Island, Double Island Point, Inskip Point, and the Great Sandy Straits.
A breathtaking way to spend the afternoon and a great opportunity to meet fellow adventurers before your Fraser Island Tour.
