This Fraser Island 4WD adventure allows a self-driven adventure to experience the stunning lakes, creeks and rainforests that make up this wonderful island! At night, retreat to your own private campsite just meters from the beach for drinks and tales by the fire with your fellow adventurers!
Feel the excitement gear up on the morning of departure from your Rainbow Beach hostel. Your group of fellow adventurers will be split up briefly to work together checking off all your food, ensuring it is all there for your trip. A quick check overall equipment then it’s time to jump into your 4x4’s to take off to Fraser Island for an action-packed experience of a lifetime!
The itinerary may change slightly depending on tide times and conditions but you will without a doubt be visiting the stunning, crystal clear Lake McKenzie, Lake Wabby and Eli Creek. There will be a stop off for a refreshing swim in the Champagne Pools and hike to Indian Head to take in spectacular 360-degree views of the island. Not to mention visits to incredible historic sites such as Maheno Shipwreck, all via self-driven 4x4’s!
Nights will be spent beneath the stars in a private campsite exclusive to you and your travel group! There will be stories as you all relax by the campfire with a drink and evening meal just metres from the beach in serene nature, what more could you want?
On the third and final day, after exploring some more of this magical island’s lakes, creeks and rainforests, you will return approximately 3:30pm for a farewell to your fellow adventurers and Fraser Island trip of a lifetime!

Briefing: The tour safety briefing is compulsory and takes place at 4:30pm the day before departure to Fraser Island. This is a great opportunity to meet the group you will be travelling with and gives you a comprehensive overview on safety features whilst touring the island. There will be some useful hints and tips on driving on soft sand. This briefing lasts for approximately 2 hours.
Please note: Failure to attend the briefing will result in a full forfeit of the ticket.
On the morning of departure, our experienced and competent staff will assist with packing the vehicles and give all drivers comprehensive instruction on driving the vehicles.
Ages: This tour is strictly for ages 18 to 40 only.
Accommodation: Accommodation on tour is 2 nights camping in a private campsite. This product doesn’t include pre and post accommodation although the majority of your travel group will be staying at the Frasers on Rainbow Beach hostel. We recommend 2 nights before and 1 night after to ensure to attend your safety briefing. Please note that while sleeping bags can be hired, we also recommend you to bring a pillow for your time on the island.
Vehicles: 4WD Toyota Land Cruisers with power steering, 8 people per 4WD, lead car can take 10 people maximum
Driver Requirements: In order to be able to drive on Fraser you must be over 21 years of age with a full open manual drivers licence and you must have this license with you on tour.
Insurance: Fully inclusive.
